The Comeback of K/DA - League of Legends

K/DA, the LoL virtual k-pop singer, returned with another single after many years of rest. The new single called The Baddest is now out on YouTube, and in just a few days, it already has millions of views.

Those who are not familiar with this virtual K-pop group, they are a virtual k-pop singer made by Riot Games that composed of four LoL characters such as Kai Sa, Evelynn, Akali as well as Ahri. The group was established a few years ago at the League of Legends World Championship, in which the group performed its first single Pop/Stars. The performance featured the members in augmented reality together with their people behind the making of this group.

Soyeon and Miyeon were the voiced behind Akali and Ahri, while Madison Beer was for Evelynn and Jaira Burns was for Kai'Sa. There a lot of modifications in the new track, though. Rather than Jaira and Madison Beer, the company decided to rope in Wolftyla and Bea Miller. The other two members are at ease. The character of K-DA also features a fresh look that can be accessed as skin in League of Legend.

The return of K/DA comes to a couple of days after Riot Games penned a big music deal with UMPG or Universal Music Publishing Group. Their joint venture takes account of 6 new singles being produced to support and endorse the World's 2020 finals.

The company also held an esports-themed camp a few months ago with 14 artists from UMPG as part of a deal. The participants include Chiyo, Gong, Matzka, GMAs winner, and a whole lot more.

The six single deal can also see True Damage's comeback, a virtual hip-hop group, which premiered Giants for World 2019. Soyeon or Akali in K/DA group was also included in the second League of Legend group as part of a spinoff project.

There is no confirmation from the company regarding the six LoL tracks beyond the latest K/DA single. On the other hand, it is likely the virtual group will get lots of releases, bearing in mind "The Baddest" is considered a press release single.

A real life K-pop group often comes up with a pre-release single on the return trail for hype sake. Usually, this is followed by series of tracks, in a short 3 song single for full album or EP.

The LoL World Championship 2020 will kick off on September 25ft in Shanghai. November 10 will be the final, and sad to say, there is no live ceremony, but the company promise to host some pre-match musical performance.
