Follow these Tips to Improve Your Map Awareness
Good map awareness allows you to determine the resistances you should purchase and what the other players are building and doing. It also helps you pinpoint their location on the map and make informed decisions. Here are some tips to help you improve your map awareness.
· Keep an Eye on the Mini-map
You need to monitor the mini-map all the time. Keep an eye on it when you are involved in any PVP combat. You have to be extra careful when making a dangerous jungle invade or tower dive because you might forget about the map around you.
· Hit Tab Often
By pressing the tab, you can see the jungle respawn time and scoreboard. CS counts display, which is losing or winning lane. It also estimates relative between the players. Pressing tab when the enemy has just arrived at lane can help you determine when they possess a control ward. You can then check their inventory to determine if their ward is missing.
· Improve Your Warding
Use your Sightstone and trinket wards, look at the mini-map, use Control Wards, and put wards around important gank paths and objectives, so you don’t lose vision control. Watch replays of your games and see how your warding is and how it changed the result of a game.
· Use More Long-range and Global Skills
You have to improve your use of the global or long-range skills of your champion. After, the global skills of your champions are crucial to their needs. Try playing global or roaming spell champions as much as possible to improve your map awareness.
· Try New Roles
Don’t play the same role again and again. Try playing a new lane, so you can get used to the strengths and struggles of that role. If you’re often a laner, you can try a warding role next time. When you play against your off-roles in the future, you will know how to handle them.
Another important thing to keep in mind is to avoid focusing on the chat, as it will just distract you. You will miss the important moments that might help you gain an advantage later on. Map awareness is not the only factor that you should consider when playing League of Legends. Even professional players can lose focus during a game. However, if you want to become a better LoL player, you should work on improving your map awareness.
